Question 1

What exactly does Kite Flyer Software Studio do?

Accepted Answer

We are a local Hong Kong software engineering studio. We build custom websites, mobile apps, and automated internal business systems for small shops, NGOs, and solo founders. From early roadmap scoping and design layouts to final engineering and ongoing deploys, we manage it all end-to-end.

Question 2

Where is your team based?

Accepted Answer

Our core product designers and developers are 100% based in Hong Kong. We focus on serving local small businesses, non-profits, clinics, and accounting firms. If you are an overseas company looking for a reliable, on-the-ground engineering partner in Asia, you're welcome too!

Question 3

How do we start a project? How quickly can you kick off?

Accepted Answer

The moment you reach out, we will reply within 1 business day. We'll set up a quick discovery chat and send over a clear feature breakdown with an upfront timeline. We can usually kick off active scoping within a few days of that meeting—no long weeks of proposal back-and-forths.

Question 4

What project budget sizes do you take?

Accepted Answer

We handle everything from simple websites starting around HK$5,000 to massive, complex custom business applications. Just note your ideal budget on our contact form, and we'll be totally honest about what features we can deliver realistically within that bracket.

Question 5

Are your projects billed as a fixed price or by the hour?

Accepted Answer

When project requirements are well-defined, we lean toward fixed, milestone-based pricing so your expenses stay clear. If your requirements are still evolving, we can operate on a flexible time-and-materials basis but will lock in a 'guaranteed cap' and show you active work updates every week so there are no surprise tech bills.

Question 6

Will the development process be too technical for our non-tech team?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! We explain every technical choice in plain, non-tech English. We build using modern, globally supported frameworks (like React and Next.js) to ensure your system is highly secure and easy to update. We write clean code documentation so your own internal team or another vendor can easily take over whenever needed.

Question 7

Can you build AI capabilities directly into our system?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but only if it adds real, daily business value—like automatically pulling fields from utility invoices, drafting automated cashflow sheets, or auto-sorting documents. We build practical tools that save your staff time every single day, not short-lived tech demos.

Question 8

Why choose an agency in Hong Kong over cheaper offshore developers?

Accepted Answer

Offshore rates can look cheap at first glance, but painful time zones, cultural barriers, and endless rework cycles quickly eat up any paper savings. As a Hong Kong studio, we sync up with your real office hours, support Cantonese and English natively, and can pivot design directions within the same week. When your operations are on the line, speed is your biggest cost-saver.

Question 9

How should a business choose a software partner in Hong Kong?

Accepted Answer

Always ask three critical questions: Who is actually writing the code? How do feature changes affect my invoice? What source assets do I keep at handover? Look for teams with verified local experience running software for SMEs or non-profits rather than flashy pitch decks. A reliable studio gives you realistic timelines, not just dates you want to hear.

Question 10

Who owns the system's source code after delivery?

Accepted Answer

Paid in full, code is yours! Once the project is complete and final agreed milestones are settled, 100% of the custom source code, structural database schemas, and design assets are transferred to your repository. It's written clearly in our contracts so you retain absolute ownership.

Question 11

How do we stay updated on our software's progress during development?

Accepted Answer

You will be paired with a dedicated project manager who updates you weekly with live, clickable builds of your application. All core decisions and architectural changes are documented clearly, engineering risks are raised early, and we answer your questions promptly within local HK business hours.

Question 12

Do you provide post-launch hosting, security updates, and maintenance support?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do. You can opt for a regular monthly maintenance retainer or engage us on an on-demand basis for later feature updates. We also hand over clean technical documentation and video guides so your internal operations team can confidently manage the system.
